In the Bedford community, the name Nico Aronson is synonymous with both hockey and entrepreneurship. At 11 years old, Nico is a player for the 2013 Top Gun Elite team, but he’s also the founder of a start- up t-shirt business – SHNIPE hockey.
Hockey has been a part of Nico’s life since before he could walk—literally. He would shuffle around the floor with a mini hockey stick in hand. Now, years later, that early passion has only intensified. Nico is up hours before school each day, heading straight to the basement to practice his skills. His dedication on the ice is impressive, and it’s that same drive that’s propelling his business venture.
Nico's t-shirt line is all about hockey slang, featuring phrases like "Duster," "Grocery Stick," “Bender” and "Fresh Lettuce." These designs have quickly become a hit among local hockey players. “I started this business in a journal and never thought it would become a real business,” Nico says. The business started as a fun summer project, but with the support of his parents has turned into an online hockey slang t-shirt company.
